CATOOSA
Oakley’s Port 33 has the furthest north, ice-free, year-round operation on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. Port 33 accommodates large and small volumes of dry bulk commodities, including fertilizer, pig iron, glass cullet, coal, petroleum coke, calcined coke, scrap steel, cement, clinker, sand, zinc, alumina, iron oxide, fly ash, mill scale and slag with more than 40,000 tons of open bulk material storage on concrete pads, and a 109,900-ton fertilizer storage facility with 11 separate load-outs. Because it has a wide variety of handling services and equipment, Port 33 can load and unload from truck to barge, or barge to truck. Eight docks are available for simultaneous loading and unloading. Shipyard and harbor service include three service tugs, fleeting capacity for 90 barges, barge cleaning, cover handling, cover repair, top water barge repair and pumping with the ability to process up to 4 barges per day. Permitted and approved by DEQ.
